From USA Today interview (Nov 2nd 2011)
HEA: When and why did you start e-publishing your own books?
Bella: After publishing eight romances with Simon & Schuster and Random House, in early 2010 the option for my next book was not picked up. I was really bummed, but then a friend said, "Hey, why don't you put something up on Kindle?" I self-published my first e-book in spring 2010, and since then I've sold more than 265,000 self-published e-books! The experience has been a complete thrill. Every day I'm amazed by it all.

Hi Bella, I enjoyed your USA Today interview. You are so right: "Invest in what you love. Feel free to apply that to money, time -- everything. Things have always gone well when I've trusted my gut." I'm grateful to all of you who share your self-publishing numbers for especially newbies like me. Continued success with the Sullivan Family series and other works -- and thank you so much for the inspiration this morning. (This blog has become part of my daily routine; kick-starts the day!)
